To Post the Postcards

To Post the Postcards photoSitting in the cab, I look out through the window. It is still fresh in my mind the warmth and the kindness of this city. But now, I am going somewhere else, leaving such a nice memory of a very unforgettable vacation for a whole week. A lot of beautiful places and interesting landmarks of the city remain picturesque and already jotted down on some postcards.

Postcards? Oh my God! I promised my friends to send them postcards when I am away. But now, the postcards are still with me. How could I forget them? They are supposed to be sent before I leave this city; I need the original stamps of the city post mail. I am thinking hard how to get them posted. At glace, I see a mailbox just on the far end of the street passed. Ok, I understand. I try to get somewhere with any available mailboxes so that I could simply insert the postcards into it.

Along the way to the airport, I really feel disappointed because I could not find more mail boxes around. I even ask the cab driver to move rather slowly and tell him why. He just nods his head and keeps going. My eyes are just like eagles staring at the left and right side of the street just to try to find any single mailbox.

Before reaching a high way, the cab driver asks me whether there is a mailbox by the end of the lower street but it will take a little while and will take further way to the airport. I look at my wrist watch and I guess I still have time for finding any mailboxes available at the place the cab driver mentioned.

We both are quite surprised when reaching at the destination. The only mailbox standing strong there is rather dirty and I am not sure with the safety of my postcards. I am asking him whether there are some more mail boxes or even the post office nearby. He just could say uncertain about that. Oh My! I am in a real hesitation. I have no idea if I could find another mail box again after all, but this one does not seem to be taken care well. But the time keeps running and I must decide very quickly.

In the end, I must insert the postcards into the mail box slot and just hope that everything will just be fine with them. I really have no choice but to let them go from here. I only could wish my friends at hometown could receive them before I get back home.
