The goal of Steve Wynn, who conceived this grand monument to leisure, was to create a hotel “that would represent absolute quality while emphasizing romance and elegance, in which romance in the literary sense, a place of ideal beauty and comfort. For a leisurely lunch in a tranquil setting, reserve a table on the terrace at Olives, overlooking Lake Bellagio. Take the monorail that runs between Bellagio and Monte Carlo. The ride through the extensive grounds of both resorts provides a few minutes of sightseeing and at the same time allows you to rest your feet. To enjoy the full effect of Bellagio’s fountain show, cross the street and go to the observation level of the Eiffel Tower at Paris Las Vegas.

Fronting on a pristine 8.5-acre lake with a treelined boulevard beyond, this extraordinary resort hotel was built to resemble an idyllic village on the shores of Italy’s Lake Como. The Italianate theme is carried through the entire property – its 3,000-room tower, 16 restaurants, two wedding chapels, salon, and spa – imbuing the whole with an atmosphere of opulence. Creating this representation of Italy cost $1.6 billion. While, the visitors are greeted by a dazzling 2,000 sq ft (186 sq m) garden of glass flowers – the Fiore di Como – suspended from the lobby ceiling. The creator was Dale Chihuly, the first American artist to be designated a national treasure; amazingly, every single flower in there is different.
